I had the pleasure of working with Scholastic this Summer and am now able to share the artwork I have created for them.
Over the last weekend I had some time to do some fun creature sketching and wanted to share them with you today. Hope you enjoy!
Hi all, today I wanted to share a dragon illustration. This happy guy has found/made himself a nice scorched place to take a nap in. ;) This artwork is available as a print on Society6, Inprnt and DeviantArt.
So I went through my files yesterday looking for something and stumbled over an old sketch. Kinda felt inspired so I decided to give it a bit of a makeover and share it. Hope you like it!
Finally I got to finish one of my own Illustrations again and it has been quite some time since I last worked on an Asian dragon. So here we go. :) This one was a lot of fun to work on. I challenged myself to work with saturation to create contrast instead of color contrast. So the entire picture is done in tones from yellow to red and the shadow areas are simply lower in saturation. At the beginning I had a different design for the horns but found them rather boring and decided to go with ram horns instead….
Time to Head South – Creature Concept
So this is my new Illustration. I leave it to your imagination why this grey old beast and the little song birds are meeting at the moss covered trees. I just noticed that I havent´t worked on a dragon for a while and decided to finish up this one. :)
Shifting Sands – fast sketch I did yesterday.
